Dec 28, 2006 · One connection is directly to the manifold, protected by a check valve. The second connection starts at the side port of the three-way check valve and is ultimately connected to the vacuum canister located underneath the driver’s side front fender. It is used by the N249 and the N112 as outlined below.
Installed between N75 and wastegate actuator, the air flow should be significantly reduced (expected result: slow opening wastegate) Pumping changed as follows: - No real pumping over 3500 rpm. - Pumping now seems at lower frequency, but still very pronounced. - Boost (if not swinging) is kept around 16-17 psi.

Jun 23, 2010 · In a 3rd gear pull starting from 2,000 RPMs-4,000, the N75 value was 92%. Later did a 2nd gear pull starting @ 2,000RPMs and went to 5,000 RPMs, N75 value spiked from 95%, back down to 82%, hit 85%, then jumped back up to 95.5%. Pedal was to the floor the whole time, so that fluxuation.
Aug 29, 2017 · Anyway, that didn't help much because all I could hear was air leaking out the the top timing chain cover. I'm not sure how the crankcase was being pressurized because I had disconnected the hose to the PCV valve. I then ran the car for two minutes and logged the spec vs actual pressure and also the duty cycle for the N75 valve.

Jul 26, 2003 · Remove the rubber mount and install on the new N75. If a hose is in the way (can't remember off hand), disconnect it and connect it to the new N75 right away after installing the rubber mount. Then disconnect the other 2 hoses one at a time and connect it right away to the new one. This way nothing gets mixed up.

Jul 12, 2011 · Pulled the N75 and blew through the pressure supply (bottom) port and air came out the correct side (boost pressure to open wastegates). Compressed air to check wastegate operation (figuring I'd hear them actuate with 10 psi) and "whoosh" from a leak but, for the life of me, I cannot see the leak.

The orifice tube is just before the evaporator forward of the mechanical block connection in the high side line "smaller line", loosen the compression block bolts after you evacuate the system and look in the line for a plastic centered tab "orifice tube" that can be pulled out with a pair of needle nosed pliers.

There are three common possibilities for the limp mode from the over-boost situation, a clogged up turbo (by far THE most common reason), an over sensitive Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor (VAG called it a Thrust sensor) and a sticking N75 valve.

Dec 27, 2006 · Re: question about Manual boost controller on B5 1.8T. Take the vacuum line off the WG and drive carefully around the block. If the boost does not go REALLY high quickly, then you have a mechanical problem with your setup - either the wastegate is stuck open, the catalytic converter is clogged, or something else is wrong.
